State medical license

Georgia physicians apply to the Georgia Composite Medical Board through its online application portal. Georgia is an IMLC member.

Georgia requires medical school graduation, 1 year of postgraduate training (3 years for IMGs), USMLE/COMLEX passage, and primary-source credential verification.

Controlled-substance registration

Georgia does not require a separate state-level Controlled Substance Registration beyond the federal DEA registration. Georgia prescribers must register with the Georgia PDMP and check it before prescribing Schedule II–V controlled substances.

Medicaid enrollment

Agency: Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH)

Georgia Medicaid enrollment is administered by DCH through the Georgia Medicaid Management Information System (GAMMIS). Most beneficiaries are in Georgia Families managed care.
